పంజాబ్‌లో ఘోర విషాదం చోటుచేసుకుంది. రూప్‌నగర్‌లోని ప్రీత్ కాలనీలో కార్మికులు లాంటర్‌ను లేపే పనిలో ఉండగా ఒక్కసారిగా రెండంతస్తుల భవనం కూలిపోయింది. ఈ ప్రమాదంలో ఐదుగురు కూలీలు భవనం కింద సమాధి అయ్యారు. సమాచారం అందుకున్న జిల్లా అధికారులు, అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది సంఘటనాస్థలికి చేరుకుని సహాయక చర్యలు చేపట్టారు. ఐటీబీపీ పోలీసులు, ఎన్‌డీఆర్‌ఎఫ్‌, ఎస్‌డీఆర్‌ఎఫ్‌ బృందాలు కూడా సహాయక చర్యల్లో పాల్గొన్నారు. శిథిలాలను తొలగించే పనులు ఉన్నారు.

రూపనగర్ డీసీ ప్రీతి యాదవ్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. లాంటర్ కింద ఐదుగురు కూలీలు చనిపోయినట్లు తమకు సమాచారం అందిందని తెలిపారు. ప్రజల భద్రత ముఖ్యమని.. అందువల్ల సాంకేతిక నిపుణులు సహాయ చర్యలు చేపట్టారని తెలిపారు. ఎన్‌డీఆర్‌ఎఫ్‌, ఎస్‌డీఆర్‌ఎఫ్‌ బృందాలు కూడా సహాయ చర్యల్లో పాల్గొన్నారు. ఇక ఇరుగుపొరుగన ఉన్న ఇళ్లులు కూడా ఖాళీ చేయిస్తున్నట్లు తెలిపారు. ఎవరూ భయపడనవసరం లేదని.. రెస్క్యూ ఆపరేషన్‌కు సహకరించాలని ఆమె కోరారు.
